As alumni of on of our the Baak Executive Leadership Programs, we invite you to get inspired and reconnected to the Baak with this Masterclass on Social Entrepreneurship in a Corporate Environment.










Typically entrepreneurship is thought of as identifying opportunities, assuming the associated risks and rewards, and transforming the opportunities into viable business activities. Entrepreneurship can occur in new or existing firms and typical goals relate to enhanced profitability.  Social entrepreneurship is mission driven with the goal of helping the wellbeing a specific group or society at large.  Through lecture, in-class discussions and exercises, this Masterclass will focus on the nature of social entrepreneurship (SE), what it is, how if differs from normal entrepreneurship, and the development of approaches, including innovative hybrid models, to help social entrepreneurs and their organizations be more effective in carrying out their missions."

Dr. Fredric Kropp is a Professor of Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation and Chair of the Fisher International MBA Program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Fredric conducts research in commercial and social entrepreneurship and international marketing and has published over 100 articles, conference proceedings and book chapters.  Journal publications include Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, International Marketing Review, Journal of Global Marketing and Marketing Intelligence & Planning. 




Prior to entering academia, Fredric spent many years with management consulting firms where he was a manager or principal investigator in futures-oriented, forecasting and marketing studies for public and private clients including Hewlett-Packard, Timex, General Electric, Dow-Corning, the US Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation, and the Federal Aviation Administration.  He currently advises nascent entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations, and is working with a Silicon Valley start-up.
